About Us
A cottage food business
We’re proud to be a small business serving the community of the Grand Valley, CO.
We are excited to join the local community of fantastic food producers, including many wonderful bakers. Our company is committed to supporting organizations that provide assistance to Grand Valley residents through food or financial donations whenever possible.
We produce all of our baked goods under Colorado Cottage Food Safety and City of Fruita regulations. This means for each item: “This product was produced in a home kitchen that is not subject to state licensure or inspection. This product is not intended for resale.”
While some of our items are made with ingredients that do not contain gluten, our baked goods are not produced in a dedicated facility and cross contact may occur. Each sweet treat is labeled with “This product was produced in a home kitchen that is not subject to state licensure or inspection and that may also process common food allergens such as tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, eggs, soy, wheat, milk, fish and crustacean shellfish. This product is not intended for resale.”
Please note: Our products are not suitable for those with celiac disease or anyone with allergies to wheat, milk, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts or sesame. They are also not suitable for people with medical conditions that require a strict limitation on sugar intake or complete avoidance of sugar, including diabetes (type 1 and type 2), pre-diabetes, severe insulin resistance, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), fructose malabsorption and hypoglycemia.
Behind the scenes
Catherine
Owner / Baker
As a child, Catherine fed her sweet tooth with New Zealand ice cream, English chocolate and Australian sweets. After a career copy editing publications about food, health and nutrition (including Martha Stewart Living, Women’s Health and Weight Watchers) and in social media marketing, she founded Healthier Baked Goods in 2026.
Dominic
Creative Director
Dominic grew up gaining weight on his family’s Italian cooking. As an award-winning advertising creative, he has built brands like Butterfinger, Kinder, Tic Tac and Crunch, and is proud to finally work on something healthy. His wife calls him the Creative Director, but he prefers his less official title: Chief Taste Tester.
Chippy
Chief Cookie Officer
Chippy was born and raised in Fruita. A chip off the old block, he is known for his good taste, sweet nature and occasional nuttiness. When he’s not busy earning his dough sharing his love for Healthier Baked Goods, he loves biking, hiking and all things great outdoors (although he does have to be careful in hot weather!).
